The Millennium Challenge Corp. plans to give USD50 million to help the Philippines improve its tax collection as part of a compact the two parties expect to sign this year, a MCC spokesperson said.
MCC staff met last week with a Philippine delegation that included Bureau of Internal Revenue officials to negotiate the agreement, which the MCC board of directors may approve as soon as March, according to the spokesperson.
