The Millennium Challenge Corp. is restructuring Mongolia's USD284.9 million compact with the inclusion of new funding for energy and environment projects as well as highway rehabilitation. MCC approved additional funds of USD47.2 million in support of Mongolia's energy efficiency initiatives and USD79.7 million to help the Asian country repair a major highway and bridge in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar.

Meanwhile, MCC suspended its USD23 million grant to Niger. The program was suspended following several actions by Niger's government, including a significant reversal of policy from the time the grant was awarded to the African country.
