International aid agencies said they don’t need to shift their priorities away from Haiti to adequately respond to the Chile earthquake, the Miami Herald reports. The agencies explained that they are well-equipped to deal with both earthquake situations if they are asked to. Chile officially sought U.N. assistance on March 1, specifically asking for satellite telephones, mobile bridges, dialysis machines, generators and water purification systems. International aid agencies said they are on stand-by and will be ready to deploy aid when asked to.
