    Norway vows to make food security a development priority

    The Norweigan international development minister raises major concerns about global hunger and its strategic ramifications, and says the West needs to be able to think about more than one crisis at a time.

    Food insecurity is a “geopolitical game changer” and has shot to the top of Norway’s development agenda, amid dire warnings from politicians.

    Norwegian International Development Minister Anne Beathe Tvinnereim is concerned the planet might not be able to produce enough food to sustain the human population this year.

    Norway also wanted to “show our friends, especially in developing countries, that we have not forgotten that there are other crises out there, even though we are focusing and allocating a lot of funds to Ukraine,” Tvinnereim told journalists Monday.
