U.S. President Barack Obama has nominated Mara Rudman as U.S. Agency for International Development assistant administrator for the Middle East.
Rudman is currently deputy envoy and chief of staff to the U.S. special envoy for Middle East peace process. She worked for the National Security Council under the Obama and Clinton administrations.
Speculation that Rudman would be nominated to the post has been floating in Washington, D.C., since early February, as Devex reported.
