OFID Invests in Burundi Road

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ Fund for International Development is lending USD8 million to improve the 15-kilometer Ntamba-Ndora road section in the northwestern part of Burundi. The investment forms part of a bigger financing package from OFID to upgrade and pave a 42-kilometer road linking the towns of Bubanza and Ndora. The project aims to promote socio-economic development in the secluded and impoverished provinces of Bubanza and Cibitoke and better integrate them with the rest of the country.
