The Palestinian territories are slowly easing out of their dependence on international aid, an international committee coordinating aid to the region said, according to The Associated Press. The Palestinian Authority is requesting USD1.2 billion worth of aid in 2010, less than its USD1.8 billion request in 2008 and USD1.35 billion in 2009, the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee said. The panel, however, said that Israel should lift its restrictions on the Palestinian territories to help boost the territories’ economic development.
