The Philippine government has unveiled a three-year recovery plan for the rehabilitation of conflict-afflicted regions in its southern provinces. The plan includes the provision of transitional support for education, health, sanitation, social protection and other key social services, according to an IRIN report. It also provides for direct cash payments to affected families. The recovery plan was unveiled as the Philippine government and rebel group Moro Islamic Liberation Front finalize preparations for a new round of peace negotiations to be hosted by the Malaysian government.
