Potential Exit of UN Peacekeepers Worries Aid Agencies in Chad

Aid workers on the ground in eastern Chad are worried about their safety amid talks over the potential exit of United Nations peacekeeping forces in the country,

reports. Some aid workers noted that continuing humanitarian work in Chad will be difficult if it cannot operate in a secure environment. The Chadian government earlier said it is not expanding the U.N. mission upon expiry of its mandate on March 15.
