United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Rosine Sori-Coulibaly as the global body’s top official in Burundi.
Sori-Coulibaly will assume the roles of deputy special representative of the United Nations Office in Burundi and U.N. resident coordinator, resident representative, and humanitarian coordinator in the African country.
Sori-Coulibaly is a veteran U.N. official, having served as senior economist for the U.N. Development Program in Burundi and Benin, deputy resident representative in Mauritania, and resident coordinator and resident representative in Togo.
