The International Monetary Fund approved a new three-year Policy Support Instrument for Rwanda. The PSI is designed for low-income countries that “may not need, or want” financial support from the fund but still seek IMF’s advice, monitoring, and endorsement of their policies. The PSI for Rwanda will help to promote macroeconomic stability and sustained broad-based growth in the African nation, while reducing Rwanda’s aid dependency.
