Hundreds of Shiite Muslims held demonstrations in eastern Saudi Arabia on March 25, The Associated Press says, citing reports from the Saudi news agency Rasid. The protesters were demanding the release of detainees and showed support for fellow Shiites demonstrating against the Sunni monarchy in Bahrain. The protesters also urged the Saudi government to withdraw its troops from Bahrain, the Saudi news agency report says.
