Serbia’s parliament has overwhelmingly rejected a UN proposal on the future status of Kosovo Feb. 14, the same day the UN police chief in the breakaway Serbian republic of resigned at the request of Kosovo’s UN governor following the deaths of two Albanian demonstrators in a weekend protest rally. The clashes underscored fears of widespread civil unrest if a decision on the Albanian majority’s demand for independence does not come soon. (Reuters)
