Sir Martin Davidson appointed new chairman of Adam Smith International

Sir Martin Davidson, former head of the British Council — a government funded international organization for educational opportunities and cultural relations — has been named as the new chairman of Adam Smith International.

Davidson’s appointment comes in the wake of a months’ long investigation by the U.K. Department for International Development and the Parliamentary International Development Committee, which found that ASI inappropriately used privileged information from inside DFID to increase its bidding chances.

“I am delighted to be joining Adam Smith International and to lead it through the current restructuring and beyond,” Davidson said in a press statement.
