Strauss-Kahn Seeks Greater Power for IMF

The International Monetary Fund needs a bigger role in the policing of the global financial system and in emergency financing, according to Agence France-Presse. Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn said before the Bretton Woods Committee that strengthening the IMF is necessary to promote financial stability, Australia’s the Age reports. Strauss-Kahn is also pushing for a new reserve global currency to serve as alternative to the U.S. dollar.
