Exiled Darfur rebel leader Abdelwahid Nur said he will join the peace negotiations brokered by Qatar, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said. Nur, who lives in Paris, had refused to enter peace negotiations with Khartoum and labeled the Qatar peace initiative as “ceremonial,” Agence France-Presse reports.
Meanwhile, the Sudan Recovery Fund has granted USD18 million to support development projects in the Lakes state, Miraya FM reports.
