The Inter-American Development Bank offered USD62.5 million to rehabilitate the Meerzog-Albina road, a key corridor in Suriname. The credit will help repave portions of the said road as well as upgrade seven bridges, 60 culverts, and urban crossings and roadside amenities. The project seeks to promote tourism and regional integration while improving access of communities to productive areas, and health and educational services.
