The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency is providing 12.3 million Swedish kronor ($2 million) for three initiatives that aim to promote human rights and freedom of expression across the Middle East and North Africa.
The assistance will be channeled through the International Media Support, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network and Oxfam. It will support efforts of these organizations in strengthening human rights and media groups in countries in the region, integrating civil society in existing human rights networks, and boosting women’s access to legal services and justice, Sida said in a March 14 news release.
