Syria and the International Fund for Agricultural Development have signed a USD27 million agreement that will support the diversification of the country’s livestock industry.

IFAD’s funding will go toward a project that aims to empower women in rural communities who depend on livestock for a living. The project is also supported by the French Development Agency, or AFD, the Syria Arab News Agency reports.
