The role of the private sector in social protection

The private sector has a role to play in advancing social protection initiatives, but what does the international community mean when they refer to the private sector?

This is a question posed by Mukul Asher, professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, in an interview during Asia-Pacific Social Protection Week organized by the Asian Development Bank.

“The organizations have become very complex in today’s era. It’s not very easy to define public-private,” he told Devex.
