The top global development employers hiring in South Africa

Despite being a key player in the African economic landscape, the global south, including South Africa, receives a disproportionately small share of official development assistance, or ODA, compared to other regions.

The World Bank reports that while employment in South Africa rebounded in 2023, the pace of job creation has not kept up with the growing labor force. This has resulted in a persistent unemployment rate of 32.4%, with women and young people disproportionately affected.
