The Republic of Haiti is a Caribbean nation with an economy primarily shaped by the agricultural sector and the production and export of manufacturing, agricultural, and mining goods. While Haiti is known for its rich culture and vibrant art, the country is currently facing socioeconomic and political instability exacerbated by natural hazards and the large presence of violent gang activities in the capital city of Port-au-Prince. These challenges have led to a rising need for humanitarian and development work in the country.
In this article, we identified the global development organizations with the most job openings in Haiti.
The largest employers are United Nations organizations, such as the U.N. Integrated Office in Haiti, or BINUH, which serves as the peacekeeping mission of the U.N. in the country, along with several other U.N. agencies such as the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, or UNOCHA, and the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime, or UNODC.
