The U.S. State Department has issued a memorandum recommending Tony Lake as the next UNICEF chief, Laura Rozen writes in her column with Politico. National governments have until Feb. 12 to nominate the successor to the post to be vacated April 30. Lake used to be the national security advisor to former U.S. President Bill Clinton and was board chairman of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF from 2004 to 2007.
