Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, Jordan’s Queen Rania and billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates are joining several other prominent names in the international development, political and U.S. entertainment scenes for a malaria awareness campaign on social media platform Twitter. Participants of the campaign will post short messages or tweets on their Twitter profiles encouraging people to donate money for bednets used to guard against malaria-causing mosquitoes in Africa, Reuters says.

Organizers of this social media campaign are working in collaboration with Ray Chambers, the United Nations special envoy for malaria.
