The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is lending euro450 million (USD595.5 million) for the rehabilitation of a major motorway approaching Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine. The road links the city to several other European Union capitals and is part of the Pan-European Corridors III and V.
EBRD has initially provided euro375 million in three loans to finance improvements to some 700 kilometers of the motorway. The new loan will be used to rehabilitate the remaining sections of the highway.
