Developing countries in Asia and the Pacific can now exchange trash for cash under a new program launched by the U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and Waste Concern, a Bangladesh-based nonprofit. The program seeks to revamp existing development strategies in the region and focus on decentralization, carbon reduction and anti-poverty initiatives.
