Alan Doss erred in asking the United Nations Development Program to give him “lee-way” and accommodate his daughter, Rebecca Doss, in the agency, the U.N. Office of Internal Oversight Services said, according to Inner City Press. Doss is the top envoy of the U.N. to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The findings, which came after several months of investigations into Doss’ e-mail requesting for his daughter’s employment within the UNDP, could hurt not only the envoy but the entire U.N. body, Inner City Press says, especially as the U.N. Security Council visits DRC on April 16 to address issues of the organization’s peacekeeping missions in the country.
