The United Nations has appealed for international help to rebuild schools and train teachers in Haiti, where much of the education infrastructure was damaged when a 7.0-magnitude quake struck Jan. 12. Now providing office space for the Haitian Ministry of Education, UNESCO has so far received a USD400,000 donation from Brazil and contributions from Bulgaria, Israel and the Norwegian Refugee Council.
