    The United Nations Mission in Darfur is supporting a large-scale project that aims to provide high-capacity water containers to thousands of returning villagers in Darfur. The project was launched April 27 by UNAMID Joint Special Representative Ibrahim Gambari.

    “One of the major sources of conflict in Darfur is access to water,” the African Press Organization quotes Gambari. “Among our main priorities is to assist communities who want to return to their homes continue with their lives. And so I want to show you our commitment to seeking durable peace and access to water.”
