The U.S. is issuing $40.3 million to boost anti-AIDS efforts in Kenya. The five-year package will fund the Kenya AIDS Population and Health Integrated Assistance Program, which seeks to provide high quality antiretroviral drugs and improve access to family planning and maternal health care. U.S. Ambassador Michael Ranneberger said Washington will also increase aid to Kenya under the Emergency AIDS Relief Fund from $198 million to $228 million this year, the biggest appropriation to any African nation.
