West African Road Network Attracts World Bank Support

Five West African countries are expected to benefit from a World Bank loan of USD228 million for the rehabilitation of the Abidjan-Lagos corridor. The corridor is the main coastal artery serving Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria. The loan will support the first phase of the project, which will cover reconstruction and development work on portions of the road located in Ghana, Togo and Nigeria.
