Global health experts and government representatives will descend on Geneva this weekend to attend the 78th iteration of the World Health Assembly — a moment when government delegations gather to vote on how the World Health Organization will move forward and keep an eye on its progress. It’s also a moment for health experts to network and work to raise the prominence of issues they care about.
This comes amid a high-stakes moment for the global health community, which has been left scrambling by massive foreign aid cuts from the U.S. government and other donors. This has left the host of the event, WHO, in a precarious situation, as well as other organizations in attendance that have been hit by the cuts.
