Direct contributions to the public-private partnership only amounted to $226 million, of which the bulk came from the European Commission. The United Kingdom, South Korea and India contributed as well.
But this is expected to change come Monday, as donor governments, foundations and corporations converge on Berlin, Germany, to pledge support for the organization’s work for the next five years.
