Who's who in #globaldev: May 2021 executive appointments

The World Bank has appointed Orsolya Székely as Accountability Mechanism secretary. Her appointment effectively kicks off the operations of the World Bank Accountability Mechanism established in September by the bank’s board of executive directors.

The mechanism is meant to “reinforce” the bank’s accountability framework and will house its inspection panel and dispute resolution service, and was expected to become operational once an Accountability Mechanism secretary “is hired and begins work,” according to a news release.

Székely is a lawyer and conflict-resolution expert who serves as senior strategic adviser and coordinator at the Executive Office of the Secretary General at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
