The most surprising part of her shift from the private to nonprofit sector was how competitive it is to secure funds, Saundra Pelletier, CEO of Evofem and of WomanCare Global, told Devex at Women Deliver 2016.
The money, she quickly learned, seemed to be going to organizations that had been around longer and had established relationships with donors.
“I thought: ‘We’re going to have to find another way to sustain ourselves,’” Pelletier said.
