World Vision Rwanda Unaffected by Food Aid Cut

Food aid cuts implemented by World Vision International will not affect the organization’s operations in Rwanda, the New Times reports. Frank Higiro, World Vision Rwanda’s communication manager, explained that programs would be unaffected by the food aid cut because these are funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.

“Rwanda is not among the 17 African countries affected by the decision,” Higiro said. “There is no food price crisis in Rwanda yet, however we appeal to our donors who pledged food aid to honor their pledges.”

World Vision International said it will curtail several food programs in Africa following the rise in global food prices and food demand.
