UNICEF Deputy Representative Elspeth Erickson has observed that Zambia has recorded a reduction in new HIV infections among adults. In an interview, Erickson said the increase in Mother-To-Child Transmission (MTCT) of HIV access to anti-retroviral drugs and effective behavior change have effectively helped Zambia in the fight against HIV/AIDS. "Access to anti-retroviral drugs and effective behavior change have effectively helped Zambia in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This can be evidenced by the reduction in new HIV infections among Zambian adults," she said. Erickson said it was important for everyone to ignite campaign aimed at educating Zambian audiences on the prevention of HIV/AIDS. (The Post, Zambia)
