About

Accordia Global Health Foundation is transforming the African health landscape by building the region’s capacity to address its most pressing health concerns through innovative training, research, care, and prevention models.

The flagship program, the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) in Kampala, Uganda, is a center of excellence with a proven history of retaining the region’s best and brightest, while raising the standard of care across the continent. Accordia continues to strengthen IDI and is working to form a network of centers that will drive best practices across the region.

Accordia works in partnership with individuals, corporations, foundations, NGOs, and governments from Africa, Europe, and North America to achieve its vision of a vibrant, healthy Africa where every individual can thrive. 

Programs
The programs enhance local healthcare capacity to promote and deliver consistent quality of care, and strengthen academic medical institutions to train healthcare professionals and nurture young African researchers.  are dedicated to transferring knowledge and skills, and to building of infrastructure, that will lead to an Africa that can move forward independently toward a healthier future.

Creating Sustainable Centers of Excellence
In 2004, Accordia Global Health Foundation and its partners established the Infectious Diseases Institute in Kampala, Uganda, which serves as the model for a sustainable, locally- owned, regional Center of Excellence transforming the quality of care across the continent. Accordia continues to partner with the Infectious Diseases Institute, while working to build other Sustainable Centers of Excellence in health in Africa.

Driving Health Innovation
Along with a diverse set of international partners, Accordia Global Health Foundation is developing innovative and cost-effective models for health systems strengthening in the African context.

Fostering Health Leadership
Accordia Global Health Foundation is making a sustained investment in nurturing the next generation of medical leaders to address existing and future health challenges in their communities through fellowship, scholarship, and exchange programs.
