About

Who they are

Acis Group is a dynamic and forward-thinking registered provider of affordable housing and student accommodation. They create opportunities for people to have better lives through the provision of better homes and better services.

What they do

They were established in 1999 in order to take over the ownership and management of West Lindsey District Council’s rented housing stock. Initially known as West Links Housing, in December 2000 they changed our name to Acis Group. Since then, further stock transfers from Northern Counties, Sheffield City Council, Raglan Housing and South Yorkshire Housing have taken place.

They now provide 5,500 affordable homes in Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Our homes are located in towns, cities and rural villages. They include high quality homes for affordable rent, low-cost home ownership schemes and sheltered accommodation. In addition, we own and manage over 1,100 units of student accommodation in Nottingham and Sheffield, two of the country's most popular university cities.

More than bricks and mortar

They go beyond bricks and mortar. They focus on the people who live in our homes and the communities in which they live. They are committed to putting people first and aim to provide a level of service that not only meets expectations but enhances the lives of our customers by making a positive difference.

As a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, they use their income to develop and deliver excellent services for our customers and to maintain homes to a high standard. They are committed to creating better places to live by investing in homes and communities, for current and future generations.

Positive growth

They want to continue to grow our business and aim to build more new homes for more people in areas with identified housing need through our development programme. Additionally, they seek to maximise opportunities that add value, for both our customers and the company. Their joint venture, Galatia – An Acis Willmott Dixon Partnership, was formed in 2012 and is a shining example of innovative thinking put into practise that as well as ensuring year-on-year improvements in service performance, resident satisfaction and value for money, will also provide cost savings for the company which can be invested into improving homes and services for our customers.

In 2013, they moved into the student accommodation sector with the purchase of over 1,000 units. The £40 million deal saw the acquisition of 1,109 student accommodation units and the portfolio includes The Trigon development in Sheffield and the Raleigh Park student village in Nottingham.

This is a result of our commitment to diversify into complementary housing markets in order to generate profitable income streams to support their growth strategy for their core business of social housing and saw their total stock portfolio increase to over 6,500 units, representing growth of nearly 20%.

At Acis, we believe that everyone deserves to have the security of a decent home
