Action for Southern Africa (ACTSA) is the successor organisation to the Anti-Apartheid Movement (AAM). ACTSA was formed in 1994 following calls by southern African groups and organisations for continued international support following the end of apartheid. 

ACTSA works to promote solidarity between southern Africa and the UK. They support the people of Southern Africa in achieving rights, equality and development for all.

Since 1994 they have:

• - Helped empower over 23,000 Swazi women as part of their 'Improving Women's Rights in Swaziland' project
• - Campaigned for justice for Southern African gold miners suffering from silicosis. In March 2016, their campaigning on the issue contributed to a landmark compensation scheme for 4,365 former gold miners who suffer from silicosis. 
• - Delivered over seven million sanitary products to women in Zimbabwe since October 2005 as part of their Dignity!Period. Campaign
• - Helped secure £7.5 million in compensation for asbestos sufferers working for British company Cape Plc, after a lengthy public campaign
• - Played an active role in the Kimberley negotiations, weeding out illegal diamonds from all future international trade, after helping expose their role in funding the Angolan Civil War
• - Successfully supported Zambian civil society by targeting British based company Vendanta Resources; securing fairer tax deals from the Zambian government and an additional $415 million dollars in 2008 alone
• - Continued to press the EU to promote a pro-development trade policy and to renegotiate the EPAs made with Southern African states
• - Launched Africa Matters campaign forging links between UK Trades Unions and in southern Africa, as hosted by Gordon Brown, the Scottish Parliament and the National Assembly for Wales
• - Held a number of conferences and delegations to ensure the Global Fund for HIV/AIDS, Malaria and tuberculosis receives the necessary financial support
• - Campaigned successfully for the establishment of a United Nations women's agency
• - Campaigned successfully for the establishment of a patent pool for HIV/AIDS medicines
