Under the leadership of Food & Trees for Africa, the African Climate Reality Project works with African Climate Leaders, governments, NGOs and scientists across the continent to create tools and resources to support a network of African leaders who mobilise communities from Algeria to Zimbabwe to find solutions to climate change.

The African Climate Reality Project is the African branch of the Climate Reality Project since 2014.

ACRP Objectives

• Create a network and communications hub for trained Climate Reality Leaders, NGOs, governments, scientists and others in Africa to collect and share information and resources;
• Develop wide-ranging communications assets, workshops, events and social channels to tell the story of climate change in Africa.
• Gather information on African Climate Change, extreme weather events, community and individual stories and solutions.

ACRP activities

They include:

• Network and Communications Hub  To create, develop, maintain and support the African Climate Leaders to enable them to promote climate change action, awareness, events and solutions.
• Climate Story Book  To develop a book on climate change stories in Africa. Please send your personal experiences (including photos) of how climate change has affected your life and/or community to stories@trees.org.za.
• Research on Climate Change  To collect and share of African climate change data and case studies and make this information available to all Climate Leaders for their presentations.
• Fundraising  To ensure the sustainability of the branch, and increase climate awareness and action on the continent, ACRP is seeking partners and funders.
