AIETI is a civil, pluralistic association, non-profit organization created in 1981 to promote the analysis and dissemination, in Europe, the Latin American reality. Their aim is to promote the right to a dignified life of the people in poverty and social exclusion, primarily in Latin America. They contribute to the development of democratic processes and citizen participation, together with partner organizations, from institutional strengthening, gender equality and promotion of cultural rights. They network with civil society organizations and public institutions in development cooperation activities, research and advocacy. In 2011 AIETI obtained the certification of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID) as a qualified NGO in government and civil society.
