About

The Alawite Islamic Charitable Association Alawiya is a non-governmental, non-profit organization located mainly in the Jabal Mohsen area - Tripoli and Akkar Governorate, and it is registered by Decree No. 4500/1950 with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities.

Founded in 1950 in order to claim the rights of the Alawite Muslim community and in 2009, shortly after the establishment of the Alawite Islamic Council, the League devoted itself to community work through development and social projects as well as health and educational care.

The association's projects and activities aim to secure access to civil rights (medical, health, educational, job opportunities, or any additional support), increase individual and group awareness, protection and the spread of risk prevention.

The intervention strategy is inclusive and sustainable community development, advocacy and peacebuilding, education and training, primary health care and medical services, religious services.

Since 1950, the Association has created numerous institutions in order to ensure specific programs of activities that respond to the needs of society and individuals such as:

  • Al Zahra Medical Clinic
  • House of Wisdom Center
  • The social hall
  • Association School
  • Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque (AS)
  • Mosque of Sayyida Fatima Al-Zahra (AS)
