ALTER International is an independent group of social scientists, economists and financial experts, institution and capacity building experts, planners, and engineers and technology scientists.

We offer integrated multi - disciplinary services in development planning, civil, structural, electro-mechanical and environmental engineering.

Since our foundation in 1975 in Ankara, Turkey, we have undertaken a large volume of engineering and consulting works locally and internationally, many of them financed by international agencies. 

ALTER International is an independent consulting firm. It has no manufacturing or contracting interest. Absolute obedience to this rule maintains our credibility towards our customers. 

ALTER International has grown during last 33 years from a design office dealing with projects of limited budgets to a firm giving engineering and consulting services to complex, large - scale projects within diverse fields of engineering. As a result of this growth, interdisciplinary teams have been working together for many years. 

Accumulation and development of knowledge and sharing it at institutional level has gained prime importance in our management concept. Conveyance of this understanding to our customers, partners and suppliers adds value to our consulting services. 

ALTER International handles projects varying in value from a few thousand to several million EUROS. Irrespective of size and complexity, each project receives the same precise and cost-effective approach.

Water and Environment, Development Planning and Transport Studies have been our main fields of activity in early years. Energy and Buildings were added in 1980s.

We have been active for flood management since 1970s. After 1999 Marmara Earthquake we emphasized on Disaster Risk Management against natural multi hazards. Eartquake Engineering as well as Geotechnical and Geophysical Engineering received prime importance within our services.

>> Project Implementation

• We assist our customers at conceptual planning phase and project definition phase of their projects. We provide services for need assessments, conceptual project planning, developing project objectives, resource evaluation, surveys, risk analysis, detailed project planning, conceptual design, feasibility study, preliminary design, environmental impact assessment, cost estimates, tender documents, tender evaluation and contract award.

 

>> Project Implementation and Project Handover

• We assist our customers in scheduling, monitoring, evaluation and control of their project activities at implementation (production) phase. Our project management functions cover management of time, cost, quality and human resources. We provide services such as: Design review, project procedure manuals, quality assurance manuals, safety manuals, time and cost control, work plans, submittal schedules, progress reports, payment schedules, preliminary acceptance, start-up operations, operation and maintenance manuals and final acceptance

• We support our customers at operational phase to upgrade their managerial and technical skills for improved performance. We take efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness as main indicators of performance. We provide services for capacity building, human resource development, SCADA and MIS and in house / on-the-job training.
