América Solidaria is an international nonprofit organization which sends young professionals as volunteers to the most impoverished parts of Latin America and the Caribbean, managing cooperation projects that benefit people in poverty.
América Solidaria also assists countries recovering from disaster, and promotes awareness of social issues affecting the region and the need to act against them.
In seven African countries, more than 250 volunteer professionals have had the opportunity to work directly with communities affected by poverty.
Where They Work
Strengthening Poverty Reduction
Their volunteers provide technical advice to local organizations involved in social initiatives against poverty.
Through their training programs, we help mold individuals into volunteers committed to overcoming social inequalities in the Americas.
Promotion and Mobilization for Regional Integration
Through mass campaigns, they expand awareness of the plight of the disadvantaged across Latin America and the Caribbean. In the spirit of global solidarity, we work with citizen groups to provide information about the challenges faced by the poor as well as the solutions that may lift them out of poverty.
Humanitarian / Emergency Response
They support rehabilitation and recovery programs for people living in areas affected by disaster, both natural and manmade. In the field, their volunteers mobilize society to come to victims’ aid.See more
