The company foundation day is considered to be February 1, 1927, when by the order of the Minsk district labor collectives association was created a labor collective for manufacturing toys, which later had been renamed to the toy factory — "Vozrozhdeniye" (Revival). Children's sleds, strollers and bicycles, cans and pots, wicker furniture and plaster bas-reliefs have been produced at the time.
In September 1930, on the initiative of the factory workforce "Vozrozhdeniye" was renamed into the "Udarnik".
During the World War II the plant was under the frequent bombing and had been almost completely destroyed.
The work began with restoration of the plant in first several weeks after the liberation of Minsk city from Nazi invaders. On the miraculously preserved machines, recovered from the rubbles of destroyed shops, were manufactured cast iron discs, window and door fittings, galvanized buckets and pans. Construction of new buildings of "Udarnik" plant started only in 1949.
In April 1951, the plant was transferred to the Ministry of Road and Construction Engineering of the USSR, followed by production of road and earthmoving machinery. The plant began to actively develop new products, and in May 1951 was released the first earth-digging machine — KM-800. Later, it has became a regular production for bucket crawler loaders, timber backhoes, bucket trucks on the pneumatic run, snow plows, snow loaders and others.
The first truck on its own chassis with articulated frame was produced in 1970. This was the famous TO-18, the prototype of today's trucks AMKODOR 332 and AMKODOR 333. The machine, which the people affectionately nicknamed the "TO-shka" had distinguishing maneuverability, reliability and ease of use characteristics.
The appearance of single-bucket wheel loader has played out an important role in the mechanization of construction, road and civil utility works in Belarus. This new machine was likened by the customers and had earned a good reputation. TO-18 loader was awarded the State Quality Mark, and in 1975 the car was awarded a Gold Medal and Diploma at the USSR's Economic Achievements Exhibition of I degree.
In April 1991, by converting the Minsk Scientific-Production Association of road engineering, in the joint decision of the Ministry of Heavy Machinery of the USSR and the Minsk Research and Production Association of road machinery at the plant "Udarnik" was established JSC "Amkodor".
