The Artigo 19 is a non-governmental organization established in 1987 in London with the mission to defend and promote the right to freedom of expression and access to information worldwide. Its name comes from the 19th article of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
With offices in nine countries, Artigo 19 has been in Brazil since 2007, where it adopts diverse strategies, actions and partnerships and in the most varied aspects of this agenda.

The Artigo 19 is to promote and defend the rights to freedom of expression and access to information worldwide. To this end, they seek to develop their work on several fronts, in different ways, always considering international human rights standards.
