About

The Association of Organic Agroindustrial Producers of El Salvador is an association of small producers and producers of organic cashew and fair trade that was founded in 2002 with the objective of becoming an alternative of economic, social and environmental sustainability for the communities of Bajo Lempa and other productive regions of El Salvador. The association is currently made up of 80 associates and associates, with women's participation of 40%.

At present, the organization has diversified its production to other crops such as: mango, pineapple, cocoa, all of them with organic emphasis and fair trade.

APRAINORES has an excellent commercial relationship that it has built for more than 15 years with important clients such as Equal Exchange (USA), Etiquable (France), Food coopos - Intersol (Austria), among others. All of them within the fair trade system. The importance of these long-term strategic alliances is the sustainability of the productive and commercial processes of APRAINORES. 90% of production is for export and the rest goes to the national market.

To be a productive and self-sustainable company, whose product is recognized in the national and international market for its high quality, which achieves the loyalty of its customers, stability and commitment of employees, and thus provide a better quality of life for its members and the community in general.

Mission

They are a company dedicated to process, transform and market the cashew nut, through certified raw material under social and environmental standards with good quality, basic infrastructure and qualified human capital, generating sources of employment in the communities.

  • Technical accompaniment to the associates for the production, processing and commercialization of their crops.
  • Promotion of Organic Agriculture as an alternative for the improvement of health and protection of the environment.
  • Generation of employment through the cultivation, processing and marketing of finished products with organic quality and fair trade.
  • Grant pre-refinancing to producers (as) for harvest periods.

  • Strategic support for the reforestation of the Lempa river basin
  • Generation of 75 jobs in the community where it operates
  • Organic agriculture campaigns among its members and the community
  • Education on gender issues among its members
  • Strategic contributions to the tourist impulse of Tecoluca
  • Participation in the processes of development and protection of the community in general

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Technical assistance to establish 25 hectares of organic cashew
  • Creation of nurseries of Marañón to reforest and expand parcels of cashew in the zone of Bajo lempa
  • Active member of the Organic Agriculture movement of El Salvador
  • Use of technology to reduce the use of non-renewable resources.
