NGO Atina is an organization that carries out programs of long-term social inclusion of victims of human trafficking. The specificity of their programs is the effort to provide support in a comprehensive and systematic way, with the active involvement of state institutions and the full participation of the users themselves, so that the assistance system becomes a viable solution for full recovery and full integration.
Acting on the causes of entering the situation of trade and other forms of exploitation - relations in the primary and secondary family, poverty, previous marginalization and discrimination, inability to realize basic rights, unemployment and inaccessibility of education, today they can say that it became clear over the years that this system providing the only guarantee for the success of the program and the sustainable social inclusion of victims of trafficking in human beings.
In addition to providing direct assistance to victims, Athens, as a separate program unit, also organizes trainings and trainings for professionals and professionals from various fields in order to strengthen the capacities of institutions and organizations to provide adequate support to identified victims of trafficking. As part of the capacity building process of institutions and policy making in this area, Athens also participates in research programs and analyzes of the phenomenon of human trafficking and similar phenomena, as well as the formulation of possible mechanisms and policies of good practice in the field of social inclusion.
