About

ABP is a Belgian non-profit organization founded in 1975 to defend and promote the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to its territory and state, rights expressly recognized by the United Nations.

The ABP claims the principle of pluralism; it is open to any natural or legal person, excluding those who profess a racist or anti-Semitic ideology. For more than 40 years, the ABP has been achieving its objectives via various lines of action:

  • - information and mobilization of public opinion, associations and citizen organizations, the media;
  • - political action of citizen intervention (lobbying) with the elected representatives in the local, regional, national and European institutions and questioning of the public authorities in Belgium and in the European Union;
  • - material, moral and human resources support to Palestinian organizations;
  • - promotion, with the Belgian NGOs of cooperation in partnership with Palestinian associations;
  • - cultural exchanges.

The PBA is working with the Palestinian people for a just, equitable and lasting peace in the Middle East based on the application of international law , which implies:

  • - the end of the occupation and the liberation of all the territories occupied since 1967;
  • - recognition of the right of return of refugees, in accordance with UN Resolution 194;
  • - the release of all political prisoners,
  • - the dismantling of all settlements and the Separation Wall;
  • - the creation of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

This charter and the statement of principles are the basis of the work of the ABP, its regional organizations, its members and the volunteers, whether collective or individual, who work in collaboration with it. They aim to clarify the aims of the ABP summarized in its statutes under art.

The ABP achieves its objectives by:

  • - information and the work of mobilizing public opinion, associations, social movements and citizen organizations and the media - this political work is accompanied by a research and clarification of the issues, in collaboration with our progressive partners in Belgium and Europe, Palestine and Israel;
  • - political intervention (advocacy) with elected representatives in local, regional, national and European institutions and the questioning of public authorities in Belgium and in the European Union;
  • - the sensitization of Belgian NGOs and associations to contribute, in their fields of intervention, to defend the national and international rights of the Palestinian people.
